Miracle Tree

A tree is about to be cut in our subdivision, but a gust of water suddenly came out from the cut branches. Filipino are known to be superstitious that is why they think that incident is a miracle. The incident was quickly spread out to the entire neighborhood and even to the local media. People began to gather on the area where the tree is located, some were there out of curiosity, and some were there to get water thinking that it can heal their ailment.

The tree is a Jackfruit, I made some research if Jackfruit has that quality of exerting so many water when cut, but I in all the studies I have read, and not even one mentioned that this tree has that quality.

Is this really a miracle, it is a tear because the tree is being cut, or the tree has an oversupply of juice. Whatever the reason is, it has a positive effect because the tree was not totally cut and most probably, will be cared more because they believe it is a miracle tree. As long as they will continue to believe that the tree is miraculous, it will stay there cleaning the air we breathe and providing us a scenic environment.

Substitute Parent?

I heard my son complaining to his mother that his teacher is not always around and she is always asking them to just do something that is not so important. To keep her students busy, she would ask one of her students to write a very long lecture to the blackboard for the other students to copy and then she will leave the class to take a very long break. After taking a long break, she will come back but still not discuss the lecture but assigned her students a very costly homework.

The job duties of a teacher are to make sure that kids become better educators and to show them that they can achieve goals in life. A teacher is one of the most important people in life. They are there to help kids and make their lives much better. These are the job duties of a teacher.

This teacher not only showing bad example she also making the environment of her students more polluted by always asking them to do a project that is expensive and not environment friendly. My son asked me to help him in doing one of his projects which I think cannot be done alone by 9 years old. Upon seeing it, I advise my son that we can use recycled materials but according to him, his teacher wants to use a new and expensive materials.

This is worrisome since teachers have a big influence to the student’s life and a person can easily be mold during their younger age. Teacher was expected to act as a substitute parent, with all the normal forms of parental discipline open to them. I cannot imagine this kind of teacher is the one molding my son characters. I'm worried that she is producing a generation polluters. She is not only destroying the environment of future generations she also molding them into a wasteful and no concern to environment individuals.

Importance of Trees

I already mentioned some benefits of the trees on my previous blog, but I read other benefits that I think will encourage more Filipinos to take care of trees and might also stop those who are rampantly cutting trees.

The article is about Tips on How to Stay Young. According to the Article gardening or being around plants bears fruit. In one study, blood pressure jumped in workers given a stressful task -- but rose only a quarter as much if there were plants in the room. And patients who had a view of trees as they recovered from surgery left the hospital almost a day sooner than those with a view of a brick wall. Since health is almost everyone's primary concern, I think this information is very encouraging.

Rapist of the Environment Beware

While I am writing my article entitled "Wonderful Car vs. Environment" I am not aware that there is also cutting of trees going on in the other part of Mc Arthur highway. Almost all the trees along Sindalan, a part of San Fernando Pampanga, were cut. I heard they stop it only due to the intervention of some concern citizens.

It is sad to know that there are people who will do everything just to earn money even in the expense of their fellowmen and environment. And it is very alarming because they can do illegal logging in a broad daylight and busy highway. Which give us an impression that they have the blessing of some government officials.

There is a silver lining though; some Filipinos are now doing something to stop this. I heard that they took picture of the illegal loggers while the tree is being cut and threaten them a lawsuit. They even reported the illegal loggers to some media company. They also put the initial "RIP" on the cut trees, meaning "Rest In Peace", which is usually being put to the grave of a decease person. They also draw heart and human figure on the remaining trees. This show how deep is their love for those trees. The growing numbers of Filipino who are getting concern of the environment should cause an alarm to would be illegal loggers and government officials who condone them.
