Wonderful Car Vs Environment

Every time I see the Mazda6 model car of Mazda, I cannot stop dreaming of owning one. I like its elegant design and sporty look. But one day, my admiration suddenly subsided when I saw the newly open Mazda facility in San Fernando, Pampanga.

They cut the two acacia trees in front of their store. I'm not sure of the reason behind, but the way I see it, there is no problem if they will keep those trees. Previous occupants of that building don't have any problem with those trees and their business also deals with car.

Those trees provide scenic environment along Mc Arthur highway in Pampanga. The shades of those acacia trees make the driving along this highway cooler even during midday.

As far as I know cutting of trees is prohibited. I was wondering why there is no one objected or condemns this action. I goggled and found an article about the "Philippines Roadways Planting Act". This was introduced by one of the Philippines senator but I'm not sure if this one passed the senate. According to the section 8 and 9 of this Act, cutting or harming of the trees planted along the roadway is prohibited unless it is necessary for public safety, or such pruning of the same is necessary to enhance its beauty and only upon recommendation and approval of the National Committee and/or of the appropriate local committees.

But in fairness to Mazda, I checked their website and I learned that they even promote environmental protection. Maybe, it just so happen that the OIC of the Mazda Pampanga branch is not aware of their Environmental Initiatives or doesn't care about it. Mazda's Officer In Charge of the Environment should remind the bosses of Mazda Pampanga branch and teach them a lesson by asking them to replant an acacia tree and have them personally take care of it until it grows as big as the previous one.

I hope this will not be taken for granted forever. Though I'm an unlikely customer because I cannot afford to buy a new car, but who knows maybe a day will come wherein I can finally afford to buy a new car, and when that day comes, Mazda car will definitely not one of my option. And even though no one from your quest during the opening, which consist of Pampanga elites and government officials, howls in protest, there maybe people from other part of the globe who cares about the environment will not let this pass.

Garbage Segregation

As I mentioned on my "For Those Who Want to Save and Be Earth Friendly" article. Here is the pamphlet for proper garbage segregation given to us by our local government.
